Web makeover for a optical network component manufacturer

Most of us don’t sit around every day and think about all the little components in the zillions of racks at server farms. But the good folks at Acacia do. They make optical circuits and modules that form the backbone of our internet.

And that’s totally cool, it’s just when it came to their old website, they were totally not cool.

They reached out to local web development firm – 3 Media Web – with Rushminute’s Robbie Moore as creative director.

The design problem? Well, in a word: brown. That was the color the leaders embraced from their humble beginnings. They feel a sense of loyalty to brown, even though it’s not the color anyone associates with a cool tech company.

Optimizing Optics

So we colored it up. We still kept the brown in the logo, but expanded the color palette with pure colors to add excitement and visual interest.

Sometimes a great makeover is as simple as freshening up a brand with a few splashes of color.

Now everyone inside and out of Acacia see themselves in a totally new way.

Awards logo made up of six brightly colored segments to create a rainbow effect.

The Acacia website received a Communicator Award of Excellence.
